Serata would receive a wax sealed parchment letter in the mail.
I write to you to reflect on matters of my own profession and the Shadow. As we both know, a good many assassins and masters of stealth have long flirted with the shadow and made use of it's arts. We've been especially blessed without needing devotion to the faith, or have we? What are your thoughts on this matter? Further more, has there been research into tattoo pigments and ritualistic markings related to such? I've heard of Shamanistic practices involving tattoos, and pondered the application of such within the realm of better tethering myself to the shadow for the sake of stealth.
Arriving not by traditional mailbox but by Serata standard raven, the reply would be on the back of the original page with some of the words carefully aligned around the wax seal.
"Deathstalker, It is good to see you take further interest in that which keeps us together as a people, and which keeps your particular profession safe in its own bosom. The Shadow is very much both an aid to us and a protector of us, and calling upon it to aid you in personal gathering of power will always make the endeavor that much stronger. In order to call, though, you must -know-.
As for the question of blessings for your particular profession, I believe there is a special blessing upon those who work in Shadow, regardless of their personal stated devotion levels - I know many a Deathstalker who denies the Shadow plays a role for them even as they use its gift to hide themselves and their blades from enemies, to set up ambushes and pass information as they will. It is my belief that you all are called, though to a lesser extent than Clergy, to the Shadow, and it manifests well through you. Those with a particular faith among you will become Lightslayers; those without remain Deathstalkers.
Regarding tattoos, I personally think they would be a welcome addition. I have seen Shadow scripture inked to flesh in past, and those who have said tattoos claim to enjoy benefit. I could likely provide useful runes and blessings to press to flesh; if you can find a troll who specializes in these kinds of magical inkings and wards, I would recommend them over other shamanic people. They are the closest among our Horde kin to recognizing the true power inherent in Shadow. As I have stated before, if a modification would grant an increase in personal power without jeopardizing your well being, it is a good option for any follower of the Shadow indeed.
Please let me know if I can be of further service. Bertram is always around, even when a mailbox is not.
Serata: I am desperately stalling and trying to find something to do with myself at work. Posted a bunch of stuff about Sherbourne so y'all know who she is and what she looks like...and I still have 4 1/2 hours left before I can go home and play again. T_T
