Draped in a shadowy darkness the figure crept slowly through the Library. Her bones grinded quietly as she paced through the rows of books. Her feet streaked the dust covered floor gently, leaving two narrow paths as she glided. Her eyes peered through a blackened hood as the references passed with every step. Patiently searching web and dust covered shelves with her eyes.
She paused for a moment as she reached out exposing her thin brittle fingers toward a dark violet book. Her eyes gazed longingly at the reference with a bit of curiosity. She wiped the dust away from book's binding and wrapped her lengthy fingers around the sturdy dark cover. As she removed the book from the shelf a chilling gust flowed through the Library. She heard quiet sound of sweeping footsteps a few rows down. Her eyes followed the steps as she placed the book within a pouch beneath her cloak. As the footsteps gain ground on her she removed a vial from her hip and threw it to the ground. As the vial broke upon impact a large cloud of smoke and dust formed around her as she vanished from sight, leaving a pair of footprints on the dust covered ground and an empty slot on the bookshelf.
Within the corner of a dark crypt she sat quietly on the cold damp ground. A single candle lit at her side. Her brittle fingers flipping gracefully through a dark violet colored tome. A constant yet comforting drip of water from the opposite wall kept pace with her eyes as she scanned the contents of the tome.
Stories of corrupted souls and followers longing for death to become true minions of a Scourge Kingdom. Scribbled references of the third war and the coming of the Lich King.
Practices of Necromancy and binding souls to the will of a Kingdom of Darkness.
Mindless followers filled with a hunger for power and destruction.
"Slaves" Rhivesha mumbled to herself as she swept through page after page.
She placed the book down at her side and stared at the candle's flame for a moment. She held her palm over the flame and sat staring as the fire glazed melting the dirt and debris on her gloves. She sat up to kneel over the candle placing her hands within each other in prayer.
She whispered, "For the Shadow will there be strength and with this strength shall the balance of the Universe still those that oppose it's will..." As she prayed darkness consumed the room. The faint glow of the candle withered and died out.
